Birthday Month...
We had a conversation in the brewery about when our “birthday” should be…
The day we named the brewery.
First got the keys to HQ.
First brewday.
First pour of actual beer.
We couldn’t decide. Best not to overthink it. Instead we’ve decided to have a whole “birthday month”. Seems reasonable right? What better reason to celebrate than the coming of age of our brewery to the tune of one whole year. We’re not sure where the time has gone, but we’re absolutely loving what we do. Making beer all day, and talking about it, whilst drinking it. So we’re having a crazily busy month in celebration of that! Basically, 3 collabs, and 3 events. Here’s the juicy:
Collaborations:
De Molen: We’re absolutely thrilled to be inviting the folk from De Molen over to cook up something fun. Having tried one of their beers for the first time years back, it pretty much inspired me to start brewing. I have a huge love for dark, strong beers, and it’s all their fault. So needless to say, we’ll be making something dark, strong, and mighty fine indeed. Very likely to be adding to our wooden barrel collection for this one. Torrside: The awesome folk at Torrside will be joining us for a brew, and subsequent event at the Falcon Tap in the evening, a tap takeover of some of their regulars, and rarities. Having spent the day with them in Sheffield last weekend, we’re now even more excited for the beer that’s on the horizon. These guys are making some seriously good stuff. Wild Weather: The fine and dandy boys and girls from Wild Weather will be hosting us for the day, for a collaboration launching at the Plasterers Arms in Norwich, where we were a few weeks back for our little tap takeover tour of the south. The recipe for this is already looking a little bit bonkers. You have been warned. Events: Craft Theory, Reading (13th-14th April) The day after our Wild Weather brew, we’re pitching our bar at the wonderful Craft Theory festival in Reading. Alongside some incredible breweries, we’ll be pouring our beers for the two days this festival runs for. Cannot wait! Tickets available here: http://crafttheoryfestival.co.uk/tickets/ Free Trade Inn, Newcastle (20th April): Our first event in Newcastle! After spending a few hours at this delightful watering hole at the end of last year, we’re excited to be back here showcasing our beers as oft we do. Always an excellent selection of beers in this place. Looking forward to being back.
Falcon Tap, York (26th–28th April)
The place where it all started! The first pints of our beer were poured here. What better way to round off birthday month than serving our beer in the mighty Falcon. Our bar will be in the back room for a couple of days. We hope you can join us for a good old birthday bash, Disco style. A real action-packed month. We’re ready.
